I'm still alive

It's been almost a year since I've written on here. Life has been hectic for sure.
I'm almost done with nursing school. I have one more semester to go. I will graduate this December. For now I'm on summer break which is GREAT! I'm enjoying the laid back easy going time it is. No deadlines. No drama. No harsh instructors. Whew Praise the Lord. Greg and I have been in need of some "married" life. We've forgotten what it's like to be married outside of school and deadlines. It's nice.
We went to Florida and Alabama for a bit right after the semester ended. We will be going to Philly in about a week...just for a day. I went to the beach with Carolyn, a friend that's in nursing school with me. I'm also planing to go to the beach a few more times this summer. I need to be in the sun. The winters up here are way too long and dreary for me emotionally. It gets old and gloomy. So I"m going to soak up the sun and enjoy all the heat that comes my way. Bring it on!
We are doing a few home projects this summer as well. We have already painted the hallway and are working on the guest room now.
Recently...about 2 weeks ago... our ceiling in the living room bottomed out. Greg was in the living room and heard a drip. He looked up and saw the ceiling sagging right below where the tub/shower is. He came upstairs and told me about it. We walked down and there it was...filling with water. It was a Sunday morning right before church. So we stuck a bucket under it and left. When we came back it was really drooping then. Ugg. We pocked it and whoosh it slopped down into the bucket. Early Monday morning we called the insurance company and then the plumbers. So the plumbers stopped the leak but we still have a hole in the ceiling. The hole should be getting fixed soon...hopefully within the week.
Yesterday we went out to M'burg to visit some family. We had a great time. Hopefully we can get back out there before school starts back.
That's the excitement for now.

one more month

I have one more month to go before I start classes again. I'm kind of excited about this semester coming up. It's Maternity and Children, the area I'm most interested in. So it should be a good semester. I'm anticipating clinicals...we'll spend time at Women's and Babies Hospital and possibly go to a local school and give injections and such (good practice). There will also be a day in clinicals in which I will either go to the NICU2 or 3 and spend a day there or go into the Amish community and shadow a Midwife as she pays visits to pregnant women or possibly delivers a baby. That would be cool to experience a birth in the plain community.
To finish out my summer Greg and I are planning on going camping one weekend, going hiking on another, and just enjoying our time together before the studying begins again.
I have been told, however, that this coming semester is less intense. I am looking forward to that. Last semester was just too much. None of the instructors were on the same page and it was just chaos. So we are praying for a more focused semester and a less demanding/stressful one. And that I am able to absorb the data and teachings without any problems.

Summah time

I'm lovin' this summer break! It's great being able to have time with my babeh. It's still a little weird not having to study. I love it!
I'm also enjoying this weather. It's GREAT! I love the warmth...I also enjoy being able to get away from it by sitting in front of our window units. ;) I'm a southerner but also love to escape the heat too. It's so nice not having to wear a coat outside with gloves, scarf, hat, undershirt, sweater, leggings, and pants with oh about 2-3 pairs of socks.
So anyways...we plan on going camping sometime when it's on my off weekend. We are going to go strawberry picking. Oh and the big trip to Alabama! Woo-hooo!!! I can't wait to go back "home" and visit everyone.
I hope everyone else enjoys their summer too!
